Check out how much has grown in the bottom shot. The top photo was taken after a bit of weeding. I am off to cook some collards from the garden.

it's raining it's pouring
tomato
pepper
June has been a rainy month here in New York. I can't remember the last time the sun came out. All of this water has really made my garden shoot up. Check out the collards. I even have a mini pepper and my first cherry tomato starting to develop.

I hadn't been to the garden in over a week since I injured my knee. I was afraid to see how many weeds had popped up. Luckily, things don't look to bad. I am looking forward to my full leg recovery so I spend more time with the plants.

inch by inch, row by row
I have a garden! This city dweller couldn't be happier. I have joined the local community garden and have my own plot to grow vegetables.
I planted tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, radishes, yellow wax beans, collards, beets and swiss chard--all of this in a plot the size of a sandbox.
I will be posting pictures and tracking the progress of the exciting project.
